– Photography of Jill White –
Jill’s first job out of school in 1958 was assisting Dupain manage his studio in Sydney. Two years later she married and left to live in Fiji and have her children. In 1970, she returned to work in his studio. She would spend around 25 years working with him, and other studio photographers, as a studio manager and photographer. She learnt the craft of monochrome photography in those years to become a highly competent photographer. After Dupain passed in 1992, she inherited his exhibition archive negatives and continued his legacy by producing three books and numerous exhibitions. Her photography has her personal stamp of perspective and feeling. Here are a few of her images.
